Yakima Day 1

Well I'm here in Yakima, a few tears later, an hour late, and a face full or prophy cup (I had an incident) I am here in one piece. Today was awesome. Yes, I was an hour late. Who knew there were 5 different clinics for the farm workers in Yakima? Of course my internet wouldn't work (Lonny where were you?!) so I hoped I had the right one. Aparently I didn't! Anyways, when I got there I did a lot of observing for the morning and then did child prophys, assisted some fillings, put on a rubber dam (I tucked it like a pro Dr. McCoy!) and almost did my first injection! The doctor couldn't find the paperwork saying that we had training so he was hesitant but he did at the end of the day, he told me the first IA was all mine tomorrow!! Scary! All the assistants are SUPER nice. There are 2 residents here too who are really helpful and fun to talk to. I ran into one of the assistants at the gym after work and I might do Zumba with her some time (I can't dance so I'm a little nervous!) They have all let me do a lot and tomorrow one of the assistants told me I am doing a whole child prophy, x-rays, and some other things. So it'll be cool.

I'll let everyone know how tomorrow's adventures go! Wish me luck!
